Awakening and Inspirations
If you would’ve asked me when I was ten years old that I would
be a writer or an avid reader, you would have seen a bewildered look on my
face. Those were the last things I wanted to do at that age. I hated both
subjects and really found them boring and a waste of time. I mean, why read or
write? I wasn’t that good with grammar, I really had nothing to say, and if I
truly wanted to be entertained I had my good old TV and video games to do that
for me. Even when it came to education, I felt I had enough of that in school.
Jesus! I can’t believe how stupid and close-minded I was at that time.
Thank God I finally grew out of that. Now, for the past few years, reading and writing is all I can think about and I love doing it now more than ever. It’s very relaxing and relieving—especially after a stressful day. As a matter of fact, when it comes to reading, I now have a two year streak of reading every day. It’s an addiction now that I simply can’t stop; though I’m sure that streak will eventually be broken sooner or later by some unforeseen event in the future; but, until then, it’s going to continue.
Anyway, going back to writing, I guess you will be asking me what I write and what inspires me. What I write is what comes to mind. Simple as that. If I get an idea that my mind’s eye happens to project as a scene in my imagination, I will try my best in putting it down on paper. Though, I must confess I haven’t done as much lately. However, there are few subjects I do have written down already. In fact, one project has been completed. I’ll share that and other future projects on this blog soon. As to what genre, well right now, I feel more of a dramatic-horror or thriller storyteller for the time being. But I’m open to exploring other genres though. That’s how much reading has helped inspire me. That and movies and TV mostly.
Some people like acting; some, the special effects; some, the violence; some, the humor; some, the sex; for me when it came to watching movies or TV shows, it has always been the story. It was the story that opened up my curiosity. It was the story that tempted my imagination of wanting to find out more. It was the story from those movies and shows that led me to turning the pages of books. And that was when things began to change. It started first with the reading of novels that some of my favorite films were based on. I discovered that the more I read the more I became fascinated. I couldn’t believe how much more depth there was to the story. As I continued reading I soon began to relate on a more personal level to the characters and began to empathize with the struggles they were enduring on an almost three dimensional scale. It was truly an awakening experience.
As time went on, I began to realize that I wanted to contribute something like that awaking empathetic experience to the rest of the world. Sure, reading and telling stories is nothing compared to a real-life experience, but it can still, even mildly, trigger that emotional feeling that helps a person escape or understand the hardships of this life we’re living. And I feel that writing, at least for me, is the best way to do it. It’s a great gift, let me tell you.
With this blog, I hope I can inspire someone else (even if it’s only one person) to open up their minds and hearts and make it possible to enable them to connect with the rest of the world.
With this blog, I would like to share things creatively through my writings either through my stories, or even with small writing exercises I make up or find.
With this blog, I would like to share my reviews or opinions of books/stories I’ve read. Maybe you’ll find that you’ll also have the same opinions I do. Maybe not.
As to the opinions on current events—especially political, I’ve decide not to address those issues on this blog, especially for the ones that are complete bullshit. There are plenty of other social media platforms for those subjects, and to quote Ralph Fiennes as Cardinal Thomas Lawrence from the 2024 film Conclave, “I have no desire to create bitterness” between anyone. You have your own consciousness, my readers, and it’s up to you in examining them if you’re in the wrong.
I hope you enjoy reading and somehow become inspired in what I have to offer, and in the future if you wish to purchase any of my works that I hope to publish, I would be grateful.
Please, don’t be shy if you have any questions or comments should you wish to reach out. And please feel free to follow my social media pages if you’d like.
Now . . . the work begins.
Take care, and until then . . .
